What are your strengths? TIPS
Dear women,
It means a lot to me that you take the time to read my words. Time is our most precious asset, and I am grateful that you give it to me.
Today, I have some tips for those of us who want to find their strengths or understand them even better!
Ask your network
Are you unable to recognize your personal strengths yourself? Then speak with friends, family, and colleagues. Other people might see strengths in you that you are not even aware of. “What do these people particularly value about me? What am I envied for?” Take a close look at what others consider your greatest strength and compare this with your own assessment.
Analyze your hobbies
Often there is a connection between hobbies and strengths. Or, in other words: You are often particularly good at the things you enjoy doing — whether through practice and experience or because you are a natural talent. Reflect on how you like to spend your time and what strengths might be hidden within those activities.
Consider your challenges
How do you deal with challenges? In difficult situations, we intuitively draw upon our strengths. Are you particularly spontaneous and quickly find a solution? Do you facilitate with effective communication? Do you keep a clear head amidst stress and chaos? Your approach to difficult situations reveals what you are good at.
Utilize personality analyses
Big Five, DISC profile, personality tests — all these concepts and personality analyses help to recognize one’s own abilities. With such tests, you can gain insights that are worth a closer look.
Undergo coaching
Coaching can also help you in the search for your talents and strengths. Together, your abilities will be analyzed and put into perspective. This helps you become aware of your own strengths.
Keep a reflection journal
Unlike a regular journal, a reflection journal is not about noting down daily events or personal experiences. Instead, use the journal for continuous self-reflection. To ensure this happens systematically and sustainably, it is advisable to create a checklist of questions, such as these:
- What worked particularly well today?
- Which skills did I utilize?
- How did I feel about it?
- What did not work?
- Why did it not work?
- What was I dissatisfied with today, and why?
Continuously evaluate the relevant answers — this way, you will get closer to your strengths.
When you know your strengths, you trust yourself, and you are self-assured and confident in all situations.
